Definitions
The following are definitions for terms included in the license cost calculations.
-BUR-
- BUR (Base Use Rate) is the base price per image determined by dividing the normal rate for a commissioned shoot, by the number of images provided. BUR is used as a starting point for pricing, that is multiplied against use rights, territories rights, period of use, exclusivity and finally the number of images. BUR can change between each shoot, but for most cases Photographer might use $10 as a starting point or average.
-Print Rights-
- Ambient includes Clean graffiti, backs of receipts, hanging strips in railway carriages, handles of supermarket trolleys, projection onto buildings, hot air balloons.
- Brochures includes brochures, pamphlets, and flyers.
- Collateral includes compliment slips, business cards, letterheads, sales brochures, visual aids for presentations, web content, product data sheets, product white papers, sales scripts & demonstration scripts.
- Direct Mail includes door drop leaflets & postcards.
- International Media includes titles like National Geographic, Time and Airline Magazines. (Must have world wide territory rights.)
- Marketing Aids include non-purchasable items/elements, includes umbrellas, ashtrays, beer-mats, exhibition panels, trolley panels.
- OOH (Out of Home) includes posters, street furniture (bus shelters /kiosks / phone boxes), transit (buses / taxis / subway / lorries / airport / post / bus stations) & alternative (stadiums /bike racks/ gas pumps/ rest areas.)
- Packaging includes printed packaging as well as labels for CDs and DVDs.
- POS (Point of Sale) Things that will be seen where the product is sold. Banners, signage, counter cards, displays, in-store posters, table tents, hang tags.
- Posters include 96/48/16/12/6/4 sheet, escalator panels, bus sides & panels, taxi wraps & seats, bus backs, tube/underground, client vehicles, garage forecourt, rail station and all public areas where advertising is screened (not cinemas).
- PR includes editorial and industry competition and awards.
- Press includes trade, consumer, local, national, magazines & newspapers.
-Digital Rights-
- Company Website includes websites for companies and organizations that exist in a multi-state, national or international manner.
- Regional Websites include website for companies or organizations located in a single state or generalized region. Also includes websites for a single smaller division, department, office or location for a larger multi-state, national, or international company and organization.
- Digital Posters includes the creation of digital objects, whether static or dynamic, which use either a single or multitude of elements to focus on a topic.
- Direct Mail includes email campaigns.
- Internet Advertising targeted advertising on the internet
- Intranet use in company network as, but not limited to, desktop wallpapers, screen savers, login screens, and application background imagery.
- Mobile includes device images and video.
- PR includes editorial and industry competition and awards.
- Social Media use on social media platform such as, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
- TV includes Interactive, video, mobiles, CD's & DVD's.
-EXCLUSIVITY-
- Non-Exclusive
- Client will receive rights to use Media in accordance to their license.
- Photographer will retain the copyrights, the rights to use the Media for his own purposes and the right to resell the Media rights to third parties so long as it does not infirnge upon Client's license.
- Semi-Exclusive
- Client will receive rights to use Media in accordance to their license.
- Photographer will retain the copyright & the rights to use the Media for his own purposes but will not be able to resell rights to any third parties.
